A true Caribbean vacation resort

For those vacationers seeking a Caribbean Resort that includes wonderful beaches, an array of comprehensive sporting facilities, exciting food and a serious Spa, in a relaxed and service-oriented environment, the Coco Reef Resort provides the perfect solution.

Situated ideally between two of Tobago’s most magnificent beaches; to the West, Store Bay and to the East, the world famous Pigeon Point, the hotel overlooks its own white sand Coconut Beach.

Equally breathtaking is the hotel’s lobby, which houses 30 foot bamboo palms and commands unrivaled views of the Caribbean Sea. Fountains, statues and the unique Gallery Bar, all combine to provide a truly wonderful reception for arriving guests.

During the four years in which it took to develop this property, extensive market research was carried out with the objective of clearly defining exactly what potential customers desired from a resort property in Tobago. From the data collected, the design and operational policies of the property evolved into a product that is clearly customer driven.

Dr. Aulina Poon, the celebrated Caribbean Tourism consultant was retained to provide a marketing survey, particularly concerning preferences in terms of product form the Travel industry’s perspectives. Her report provided essential intelligence that was used in formulating the property’s rate of structure and package plans.

The Bermudian architectural firm of Cooper & Gardner, in formulating the initial designs, was driven to produce a dramatic statement that was clearly reflective of Trinidad & Tobago’s architectural iconography. Michael Phillips, the consultant architect on the project, spent four weeks in Port of Spain, Trinidad, researching the historical buildings that make up the country’s eclectic architectural style. This research formed the basis of the initial designs, from which the architectural drawings evolved. The owner’s architectural brief clearly stated first and foremost, that the property must, in every aspect, look and feel Caribbean.

N.H. International, the respected Caribbean construction company, was awarded the contract to build Coco Reef, not only because of their historical record of success, but particularly because of their reputation for the fine finishes, which is such an important aspect of the project.

The decor and furnishings have been specially chosen to reflect the local culture and art, ranging from Saltillo tiles and the finest hand crafted wicker furniture, to the custom-designed draperies and the bedspreads, and exquisite wall stencils.

Newly-weds and other romantics can find their perfect spot in the resort’s spectacular Sunset Villa, nestled amongst the lush coconut palms away from other guests.

After basking in the sun, sipping Planter’s Punch or languishing in the luxurious Spa, the sports minded can enjoy a game of tennis or try a wide range of water sports, including sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, wind-surfing and deep sea fishing, all of which can be arranged by our professional Social Directors. Guests can also tee off at Tobago’s world-renowned golf resort, the Mount Irvine Bay Hotel. Another unique feature available to guests is to be met at the Crown Point International airport and transferred to theCoco Reef Resort, by the hotel’s Classic Rolls Royce.

Commenting on the Coco Reef Development, Chairman of Island Resorts Mr. John Jefferis, the major investor in the project, stated:

“I would be amiss if I did not congratulate the Trinidad & Tobago Government, and particularly TIDCO for their support and business like approach to the encouragement of tourism development in Tobago. Their vision and ability to expedite matters will certainly be a major factor in bringing other investors to the country”
